Hull No: One of the last produced
A standard Fairey Huntsman 28ft Twin Screw diesel powerboat, is a lengthened Ray Hunt design Fairey Huntress 23ft the single screw version. Fairey Marine of Hamble built just over 100 Huntsman 28s in the 1960s and the last around 1970. Being one of the last produced, is an advantage as the production had become standardised by this time.
The Huntsman 28 has twin berths in the fore cabin with a separate loo compartment to starboard and a galley area opposite to port with stainless sink and fresh water.
Stowage is ample below the bunks and in a forward locker. Inserts maybe placed in the central area between the bunks to make a double berth. The classic Fairey open cockpit gives the feeling of being afloat and in the open sea or the spray hood used to give shelter underway or extending the cabin whilst moored.
The cabin floor, engine hatches and aft cockpit are finished with specially laid teak, as are the decks. The boat has its original bow roller, foredeck crucifix bollard, side 'T' cleats and other features such as the engine chromed air scoops on the carlines and also a stainless steel pulpit.

Summary
'Fairey Fast Too' is one of a pair rebuilt to special order over the year 2000. The whole hull was epoxy filleted and all interior bulkheads & inter -costals fitted new. The result is an extremely strong hull and exceptionally light, giving a ride more like a light aeroplane as Peter Twiss the Fairey Aviation Test Pilot commented.
The Cockpit Teak is all 'mitered' corners, especially laid, she has all the bells & whistles as can be seen in the photographs. She is about as perfect as you can build a boat.
The twin Yanmar Diesels are almost silent giving a light hum in the cockpit, not the strong Diesel noise, you normally associate this kind of power. These modern new engines, all contribute to the end 'all up weight', which is the order of a ton lighter, than a std. traditional Fairey Huntsman 28.
Owing to her lightness and installation, she is very docile when travelling in harbour, rivers or canals, perfect for celebrating your aged relatives 90th Birthday aboard.
If wished out at sea the speeds up to around 45 knots are possible and the first one of 'the pair' performed to 49.8 knots, very nearly the 50 knot barrier. This makes this pair easily the fastest Faireys by a good Ten knots at least.
She was commissioned by a perfectionist who now wishes to move on with his boating and so she is on the market. This one of the pair has hardly been used afloat, the engine hours are very low.
For the dedicated Classic yachtsman who wishes to own the best Fairey Huntsman 28 in the world, well here is the opportunity to own her.
